Papa Alioune Badara Paye

Advisor – Francophone Africa

Paye serves as an Advisor for the Francophone Africa team. He primarily oversees EITI implementation in Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire and Guinea, and also supports other country leads in the region.

Before joining the EITI, he worked for eight years at EITI Senegal, where he served as Deputy National Coordinator and supervised the preparation of several EITI reconciliation and thematic reports. His responsibilities included facilitating community workshops and implementation of the EITI Senegal work plan, particularly in areas related to governance, data analysis, contracts transparency and beneficial ownership. Prior to joining EITI Senegal, Paye began his career at PETROSEN and worked as Planning Engineer in various mining and minerals operations in Senegal.

Paye is trained as a Geological Engineer from Dakar Cheikh Anta DIOP University and holds a master’s degree in taxation law. He was an Oxford Fellow for the Certification in Oil, Gas and Mining Governance in 2019. Outside of work, he enjoys reading and playing football. He is based in Dakar, Senegal.
